Bruce Medley

Senior Managing Partner

Bruce is a Burdekin local, having been born, raised and educated in Ayr. He has lived in Ayr all of his life and has an intimate knowledge of the Burdekin District.

After completing his education at the East Ayr State School and the Ayr State High School, Bruce studied Law externally while working for local Solicitor John D. Francis under Articles of Clerkship. Following the closure of Mr Francis’ practice, he took up employment with Groves and Clark at the beginning of 1974, completed his legal studies and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in October 1974. He became a partner in Groves and Clark from 1 January 1975.

During his legal career, Bruce has practised in almost every area of Law. He now practises primarily in matters involving the sugar industry and sugar cane farms, commercial and residential conveyancing, leasing, wills, estates and estate planning and personal injuries although he also handles other matters as required. He practises mostly in the firm’s Ayr Office but also in its Bowen Office on a visiting basis.

Bruce adopts a common sense approach to most issues and tries to achieve a prompt, realistic and cost effective outcome to clients’ problems.

Bruce is married with two adult children. His recreational interests are the Australian Air Force Cadets, fishing, and playing the bagpipes.
